In 2016, an interactive film called Late Shift was released in England, Switzerland, Russia, Germany, Belgium, and Czech Republic attracting attention from all over the world. Before that, some interactive films were experimentally screened at the fair, but it’s the first time that an interactive film was actually released in movie theaters.
In 2018, Netflix produced Bandersnatch, one of Black Mirror‘s series episodes, showing that interactivity could be the next step forward in entertainment.

인터랙브 영화는 1980년대부터 사랑을 받아온 FMV(Full Motion Video)게임 장르의 하나 였습니다. 초창기에는 조악한 컴퓨터 그래픽을 커버하는 용도로 스토리 진행을 위해 실사 영상을 쓰는 형태에서, CG의 발달로 잠시 쇠퇴 하였다가 최근 들어 미디어가 다양해지면서 각광을 받고 있습니다.
2016년에 Late Shift라는 인터랙티브 영화가 영국, 러시아, 독일, 벨기에, 스웨덴에서 개봉해 주목을 받았고, 7개의 결말을 가지고 있습니다. 극장용 인터랙티브 영화는 실험적으로 박람회 같은곳에서 이루어 지기는 했으나 실제로 개봉하는 것은 처음 있는 일입니다.
2018년 넷플릿스에서 블랙미러의 시리즈 에피소드의 하나인 Bandersnatch가 공개되면서 일반인들의 관심이 높아진 상태입니다.
